The 515 MIAMI Reservation System: Book by Chat, SMS or WhatsApp

Why we replaced our livery software, what the industry runs instead, and what changes when you book.

Most of the ground transportation industry runs on the same handful of reservation platforms. We used to be one of those companies. We are not anymore.

This is what we replaced, why we replaced it, and what it means when you book a car with us.

What the rest of the industry runs on

If you have booked a black car anywhere in the United States in the last decade, your reservation almost certainly passed through one of a small number of systems built for the livery trade.

Limo Anywhere is the largest of them. By its own published account it is the software behind more than 5,400 limousine and livery operators in over 60 countries. Alongside it sit Livery Coach, FASTTRAK, Limosys and a newer generation including Moovs, Yelowsoft, LimoExpress and Limozoft.

These are capable products and there is nothing wrong with them. They handle dispatch, driver assignment, invoicing and fleet records for thousands of businesses that would otherwise be running on spreadsheets. For most operators they are the right answer.

They share one structural trait, though, and it is the reason we left.

The problem was never the software. It was the shape of it.

Off-the-shelf livery software is built for the operator, not the passenger. It is a back office that happens to have a booking form attached.

That inversion shows up in ways every frequent traveller recognises. You fill in a web form with fifteen fields. You get an automated email. You reply to the email and nobody reads it, because the reply address is not monitored. You call instead. The person on the phone asks you for information you already typed into the form. Your flight moves and there is no obvious way to tell anyone except calling again.

None of that is a bug. It is what happens when the booking channel is the last thing bolted onto a dispatch system, rather than the first thing designed.

We reached the point where the things we wanted to do for clients were things the platform was never going to do. So our technical team built the reservation system we actually wanted, and moved the business onto it.

Book the way you already communicate

The clearest consequence is that there is no single place you have to go to book a car. There are three, and they are all the same system underneath.

These are not three separate inboxes staffed by three different people. They are three doors into one reservation record. Start a booking in chat on your laptop, finish it by text from the taxi to the airport, and it is the same reservation the whole way through.

What that changes for you

There is no app to download. You already have a messaging app. Adding another one to a phone for a car you book four times a year is a poor trade, and we are not going to ask you to make it.

There is no account to create. No password, no verification email, no profile to complete before you can ask a question.

The conversation is the record. When you change a pickup time, you change it in the thread you are already in. You do not log in somewhere else to do it. Everything about the booking lives in one place you can scroll back through — which matters more than it sounds like it should when you are trying to remember what you agreed to three weeks ago.

Your details carry forward. If we have driven you before, we know the address, the vehicle you prefer and how many bags you travel with. You do not re-enter them.

What happens between your message and the confirmation is its own subject, and we have written it up separately.

What we built underneath

We said this would be light on technical detail, and it will be. But three parts are worth knowing about because you can feel them.

One record, many channels. Chat, SMS and WhatsApp all write to the same reservation. This is the piece that makes everything above possible and it is the hardest part to retrofit onto an existing platform, which is largely why we did not try.

Privacy on the ride itself. When your chauffeur needs to reach you, the call is bridged rather than connected directly. You get the call; the driver does not get your mobile number, and you do not get theirs. Neither number is stored on the other person's phone after the job.

The same system runs the back half. Job assignment, our partner network and payment all sit on the same platform as the booking. When something changes on your reservation, nothing has to be copied between systems by hand — which is where errors have historically come from in this industry.

What we are not claiming

Building your own software is not automatically better than buying it, and any company that tells you otherwise is selling something. Plenty of excellent operators run stock platforms and run them well.

What we will say is narrower and we think more useful: we decided the booking experience mattered enough to own it rather than rent it, and owning it means when a client asks for something sensible, the answer is a change we can make rather than a feature request to a vendor.

The vehicles

Choose by passenger count first, then check the luggage line.

  • Mercedes-Benz S-Class — 2 passengers, 2 bags. The first-class sedan.
  • Cadillac Escalade — 6 passengers, 7 bags. The premium SUV.
  • Chevrolet Suburban — 6 passengers, 7 bags. The full-size SUV.
  • Mercedes-Benz Sprinter — 13 passengers, 16 bags. Executive van — one vehicle instead of three.

All late-model, licensed and insured, with a professional chauffeur.

Booking

Send us the date, your pickup address and the time you want to leave, the number of passengers, and where you are going. The website chat, SMS and WhatsApp all reach the same reservation system on +1 (305) 676-8127, and all three quote and confirm on the spot.
